Our services are commissioned by a variety of different organisations such as prime contractors looking for delivery partners, housing associations, local authorities and banks - OUR COMMISSIONING PARTNERS.

 

The people who participate in our programmes come from a range of demographics. Our approaches are carefully tailored to fit with the individuals we are working with - OUR CLIENTS / MEMBERS.

Current Programmes

Mobile Job Club

Wandle Housing commission DET to deliver a range of employability projects and activities across boroughs with our mobile training facility - the DET bus.  We are currently out on location Merton, Croydon and Southwark. Services include Job Club, back to work training and workshops and Job Brokerage.

European Social Fund

The European Social Fund is the financial tool used for the delivery of a myriad of programmes and projects across the continent.

 

Here at DET we are working on a number of initiatives that support individuals into employment, apprenticeships, further and higher education.

 

Enterprise - We host Erasmus New Entrepreneurs and support them into understanding how to set up and run a business.  They get the benefit of working in the UK as well as the opportunity to receive mentoring to set up their own business in the UK or abroad.

 

LLDD Employment - Learners with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities have the support of a dedicated case worker who takes a holistic approach to helping individuals on this programme to achieve an ultimate goal as well as achieving milestones along the way that are both personal and professional.

 

LLW - Love London Working supports a range of individuals either unemployed or inactive to set and achieve goals, take part in accredited and non-accredited courses and provides childcare for those who need it whilst attending courses.​

Merton Chamber of Commerce

Merton Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the Take 1 Project that was primarily set up to support and encourage employers to take on apprentices.  The project has grown to now incorporate and provide targeted employment opportunities for people 18+.

 

Merton Chamber of Commerce is also majorly concerned with supporting employers to be compliant, helping employers to understand employment legislation, helping businesses to achieve growth and matching employees and employers with mutual benefit.​

Clarion Housing - Now completed

Clarion Housing commission our Start Your Own Business Course.  The course is a fast track 'all you need to know' to get a new business off the ground.

Literacy and Numeracy Courses - Now completed

ESFA funds supported the DET basic level literacy and numeracy training for those adults who need a bit more help learning to read and write in a fun and supportive environment.

Be Connected - Now completed

Be Connected is a DET project based in the Merton borough which has a special focus on the long-term unemployed, lone parents and/or carers who need support, training and inspiration to re-enter the workforce. Be Connected was commissioned by Merton Council. This programme was successful completed 2015-2016 and has now ended.

Take One - Now completed

Take 1 is a partnership project led by the Merton Chamber of Commerce.  Take 1 aims to support longer term unemployed Merton residents into employment within 8 weeks of them joining the programme.  This is a very targetted form of intervention where there is intensive 1:1 support for each individual.  Take 1 participants can only be referred by their Job Centre Work Coach.​
